The Legendary 4 Lads who shook the Wirral...John Peel favourites Half Man Half Biscuit, formed in the early eighties, 'merely as a way of getting through the day'.
Their quirky punk driven, lyrical rants, and protests against all things celebrity and fake, became the unofficial anthems of the underground. A band as savage as they were whimsical, Half Man Half Biscuit provided an unexpected dessert for those British post-punk teenagers who lamented the demise of bands with bite.
Nigel Blackwell's inimitable song writing on the minutiae of life, football and TV celeb's quickly garnered cult status, particularly live, where fans could eagerly chant back his wise words." (Patrick Thorne).
