Mike — famous for his role as the soap’s wheeler dealer Frank Butcher — passed away (29/07/07) aged 67 in Spain.
Mike collapsed at his villa overlooking a golf course near Marbella.
A great actor and a very funny man.
"REID ALL ABOUT IT" from Mike Reid was last at the Blackpool Opera House on Friday 10th December 2004.
Mike dedicated a large part of this new show to memories and stories from his hilarious and sometimes chequered past.
As 'naughty' Frank Butcher he was the most loved of all The Eastenders and you could have seen him in top films alongside the likes of Brad Pitt!
"Reid all about it" was different from anything he had done before. There was a great deal that you may not know about him, for instance, why was he sacked as Roger Moore's stunt double, and from the film set of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! He bravely gave the audience an opportunity to ask their own questions.
The show also included a healthy measure of his new stand up comedy routine. Together with top impressionist Hilary O'Neil, there was a unique opportunity to explore the career of one of our major UK stars.
Be warned though the show was likely to contain adult material and the odd expletive!
