Event Details

World Matchplay Darts Championship at the famous Winter Gardens Empress Ballroom live (Sport) Saturday 19th till Sunday 27th July 2025 in Blackpool.

The PDC World Darts Matchplay celebrates its 30th year at the amazing Winter Gardens in Blackpool and Sky Sports will be at the oche to show all live matches throughout this great darting week.

2025 World Matchplay will feature 32 of the world’s finest players battling for a total prize fund totalling £450,000.

Lastest Champion : Luke Humphries beat Michael van Gerwen in the World Matchplay Final (18-15).

Format :
Round 1 – Best of 19 legs / Round 2 – Best of 25 legs / Quarter Finals – Best of 31 legs / Semi Finals – Best of 33 legs / Final – Best of 35 legs.

    • Thanks Kim, We have added you to our list ? The Matchplay has to be the one of the best in the darting calendar & Blackpool is great during the day and even better at night! As for the best night to watch the darts? Decisions, Decisions – Opening night is always great. It’s a Saturday, you can soak up the atmosphere during the afternoon, see all the costumes, pre drinks then it’s into the famous Winter Gardens (Now this is a venue!). Opening night you are guaranteed to see the reigning champion (which in this case would be 2018 Matchplay Champ Gary Anderson – after defeating Mensur Suljovic 21-19 in a tie-break in the Final). So, Saturday through to Wednesday you get to see 4 matches per session and the cost per ticket are slightly cheaper. Quarter-Finals on Thursday & Friday have 2 matches but are longer (Best of 31 legs), a few quid more but quality darts. Semi-Finals on the Saturday, now this is a very popular night – 2 Matches, Saturday Night, long tense games which are Best of 33 legs and lots of crowd interaction…..Yaya, kolo toure anyone ? Stand up if you love the darts ? Then its the Big One, the Final. Slightly more expensive (last year was : Table Ticket £51 | Balcony/Standing Ticket £46), Best of 35 legs, 1 x Match but…. it’s the Final. It’s your chance to say ‘I was there when the new champion picked up the Phil Taylor Trophy’. So, Decisions, Decisions ? – All we can say to finish off is we hope everyone gets the night they are after, darts is darts but YOU make the atmosphere what it is ? #lovethedarts

It’s a great mix of all ages and it works (You will know what I mean when you experience it ?) – Note: Tickets are limited to eight per person per session. Tables are in long lines from front of the stage to the rear of the arena. Prices vary: Opening night cost from last year was : Table Ticket £36 per ticket so for 10 would be £360 | Final’s night cost from last year was : Table Ticket £51 (10 tickets would be £510). Hope this helps. As soon as we know the official prices for this year we will let everyone know – Also we will give everyone a seating plan for a heads-up where they would like to be ?

    • Thanks Darren. It looks like Tickets are limited to buy six per person at the time when they go on sale. You can still buy more or have someone else buying at the same time just you can only put a max of 6 tix in your basket at a time. ?
